Foxconn launched its own Large Language Model, Foxbrain

Foxconn, the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer, launched its first large language model.

The system, called “FoxBrain,” will be used to improve manufacturing and supply chain management.

The deets: FoxBrain will help streamline factory operations, logistics, and supply chain processes, reducing costs and improving productivity.

The company aims to keep up with global AI advancements and reduce dependence on external AI models.

The model was trained using 120 of Nvidia’s powerful H100 AI chips in just four weeks.

Context: FoxBrain is already being compared to China’s DeepSeek, and while Foxconn admits there’s a slight performance gap, it claims the model is close to world-class standards.

Initially built for internal applications, FoxBrain has since expanded into data analysis, document collaboration, decision support, and even mathematics.

China, the U.S., and Taiwan are competing fiercely in AI, and companies like Foxconn are positioning themselves as key players.
